While walking about Tokyo’s ultra-chic Omotesandō street, we found several storefront displays using mirror tiles in creative ways. Maybe you’ll find some inspiration in this costume shop’s masquerade style masks carefully tiled in 1/4″ mirror tiles.

Walking further down the avenue we ran into these display mannequins completely covered in 1/2″ mirror tiles with a light grout…

At the very end of Omotesandō there was a shop showcasing this incredible custom bathtub with oversized claw-feet, the underbelly completely done in mirror tile.

the same shop also had these joined plush seats with contrasting upholstery ; both with mirror tiles covering the back sides.

Tokyo is known for being on the cutting edge of fashion and design, so seeing all the mirror tile objects was exciting. The price of these things were astronomically high, but a keen DIY’er could make any one of these things happen in a weekend for a fraction of the cost.

Incredibly inspiring! Looks like I better stop in for some tiny mirror tiles!
